Isabella Plantation

For years I have been promising myself to revisit Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park, London.

Once, 15 or so years ago, the plantation was one of London’s little secrets. It was always there for everyone to visit but not many people knew about it.

This Bank holiday weekend I finally went and it was as beautiful as ever. Make sure you visit at the end of April / early May when azaleas are in full bloom around the Still pond. At that time you will also see the last of bluebelles and the very last of camellias.

From past visits I remember Isabella Plantation as a magical place full of beauty. It still is but, since the word got out and there are more visitors, choose your time wisely. Try not to go on a Bank holiday weekend and try to go as early in the morning as you can. It is worth it.
